We gat the Glo 4G LTE at last in Nigeria after MTN and Nitel had launched theirs for months. I know this will definitely be a good news to all Nigerian that have been expecting the 4G LTE and the entire Glo fans.

The time has finally come when we’ll be able to download at the speed of light without spectranet but with Glo 4G network.

For those that got 4G LTE spectranet as the fastest network in Nigeria while others are waiting for 3G or H+ upgrade to 4G on Glo network, Glo Nigeria has silently took the task upon itself to be the first Telecommunication network in Nigeria to roll of 4G network in major locations, in some selected area of Nigeria though with the hope to make the 4G coverage available nationwide.

The rolled out of Glo 4G LTE network coverage in some selected area of Nigeria actually amazed me because it almost caught me unaware unlike MTN Nigeria and Nitel who offers 4G LTE network only in Lagos.

Here in this post, we bring to you everything you need to know and do in other to start using the new 4G LTE network coverage in the selected area pending the time the 4G coverage will available nationwide.


Glo 4G LTE: New Glo 4G Network Coverage Outside Lagos

This is definitely going to be a good news for those that have been longing to use spectranet 4G network and were unable to use it because they reside outside Lagos.

Glo 4G network covers a wider range and they are still expanding the coverage of their 4G LTE network.

The new development doesn’t only ends in Lagos or PortHarcourt but in some selected states in Nigeria. Below are the currently eligible states to enjoy Glo 4G network coverage.

The current 4G LTE Glo eligible states location are; Lagos, Benin, Warri, Jos, PortHarcourt, Zaria, Yola, Abuja, and Eket.

We hope Glo will roll out the service completely to other states before the end of 2016 Calendar year.

Glo Nigeria promised to keep rolling the 4G LTE network silently as they did for the first set of eligible states or location. To check whether your location has been included in the list of 4G LTE states or area, dial *777# and follow the on-screen.

Glo 4G LTE: Compatibility Check

Your SIM and Phone must be compatible to GLO 4G-LTE for you to use the new data service and network coverage. To simply check your SIM and Phone GLO-4G Compatibility, simply send 4G to 400  on your Glo SIM.

Just like Glo 3G list of available data, there are 7 different 4G LTE subscription for eligible customers with almost the same price range with 3G. Checkout the price range and alotted data below.

  • 1.6GB for N500 (7 Days Validity)
  • 3.2GB for N1000 (30 days validity)
  • 7.5GB for N2000 (30 days)
  • 10GB for N2500 (30 days validity)
  • 12GB for N3000 (30 days validity)
  • 24GB for N5000 (30 days validity)

Glo 4G LTE: How to Activate GLO 4G-LTE

To activate Glo 4G-LTE is very simple, as there is no much work to do before you can start enjoying the superfast internet connection like spectranet users. Meanwhile, you need the following to use Glo LTE network.

  • Check whether you are eligible for Glo 4G-LTE following the above steps.
  • Visit the nearest Glo outlet
  • Purchase a Glo 4G-LTE and duly registered it. If you still want to maintain your old Glo number, simple swap it with 4G and don’t forget to hold to yourself a valid government ID card.
  • Then, purchase 4G data by dialing *777# and follow the on-screen data subscription.

Note: Always check whether your location is eligible before your subscribe to 4G-LTE data plan.

Glo 4G LTE: How To Use Glo 4G-LTE on PC

If you have been using Glo 3G on your PC before the arrival of 4G-LTE, you should be able to use the new Glo 4G-LTE on your PC via hotspot or tethering via USB. You can as well enjoy your PlayStation network with the 4G-LTE.

One more thing about Glo 4G-LTE is that it will not work on 3G modem. This is actually not a problem but upgrade of service. To use the 4G LTE on your 3G modem, you will either upgrade the modem or get a Glo MiFi or better still stick to your 4G supported smartphone and use it as a hotspot.
