Verizon Ellipsis 8 just got Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update skipping Android 5.0. The Verizon Ellipsis 8 is a mid range smartphone, that skips Android 5.0 straight to Android 5.1.1 Lollipop from KitKat.

If you own Verizon Ellipsis 8, you should have started seeing a pop up notification prompting you to update your Verizon Ellipsis 8 OS from KitKat to Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.

Verizon Ellipsis 8 Android 5.1.1

Despite the fact that Verizon Ellipsis 8 is not a popular tablet, users have not been complaining over time now and the device is doing pretty great on it pre-loaded OS.

What baffles me most about Verizon Ellipsis 8, is the skipping of Android 5.0 update. Instead of Verizon Ellipsis 8 getting 5.0 Android update, the device got Android 5.1.1 Lollipop straight update.

As at this time, the Verizon Ellipsis 8 Android 5.1.1 is over-the-air with software number QZ3_31F40.

Users don’t have to bother much about Verizon Ellipsis 8 getting Android 5.1.1 update rather than Android 5.0 since the differences between the two OS is quite limited.

Has it happens on your Verizon Ellipsis 8? Have you got the Android 5.1.1 update on your Verizon Ellipsis 8?

  1. I have an ellipsis 8 and recently went thru the update to 5.1.1…ever since my apps (particularly Facebook and bejeweled blitz) constantly stop running and ask if I want to close them? So annoying! I’m not impressed so far!

    • you should go ahead and do a factory reset of your tablet.

The update to 5.1.1 brought a whole new file system structure which can cause issues with some app after what’s known as a “dirty flash” meaning a straight upgrade.

This has affected pretty much every android device updated from kitkat to lollipop
